At Luna, we believe your personal data belongs to you. Your conversations, memories, and wellness data are stored on your device and securely synced to our cloud servers for backup and seamless access. We do not sell your data — ever.

When you use Luna, we collect the following types of information: Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. Chat & Conversation Data: Messages you send to Luna, including text and voice inputs, are processed to generate responses. Your conversation history is stored locally on your device and synced to our secure cloud servers to enable backup and seamless access. Journal Entries: Any journal entries you create are stored locally on your device and securely synced to our cloud servers for backup and data persistence. Mood & Wellness Data: Mood check-ins, wellness activity usage, and related data you provide are stored locally on your device and synced to our secure cloud infrastructure. Memory Data: Luna extracts key facts and preferences from your conversations to personalize your experience. These memories are stored locally on your device and backed up to our cloud servers. Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage statistics such as app opens, feature usage, and crash reports to improve the app experience.
We use the information we collect to: - Provide and maintain the Luna companion experience - Generate personalized AI responses based on your conversation context - Remember your preferences, interests, and personal details to improve interactions over time - Track your wellness journey including mood patterns and streaks - Improve app performance and fix bugs through anonymous analytics - Send you optional notifications (with your permission) - Authenticate your identity and secure your account
Local + Cloud Storage: Luna stores your data locally on your device for fast access and also syncs it to our secure cloud servers for backup, data persistence, and account recovery. Cloud Services: When you interact with Luna's AI features, your messages are sent to our AI service provider to generate responses. Your conversations, journal entries, mood data, and memories are stored on our secure cloud infrastructure with strict access controls. Encryption: Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS encryption. Data stored on our cloud servers is protected with encryption at rest and industry-standard security practices. Authentication: Your account is secured through Google's authentication infrastructure, which provides enterprise-grade security.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share limited data with: AI Service Providers: Your messages are sent to our AI provider solely to generate responses. These providers are contractually obligated to not retain or use your data for other purposes. Analytics Providers: Anonymous, aggregated usage data may be shared with analytics services to help us improve the app. Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation. We will never share your personal conversations, journal entries, mood data, or memories with advertisers or marketing companies.
You have full control over your data in Luna: View Your Data: You can view all your memories, conversations, and journal entries within the app at any time. Delete Conversations: You can clear your entire chat history from Settings › Conversation › Clear Chat History. Delete Memories: You can clear all memories Luna has formed about you from Settings › Conversation › Clear All Memories. Delete Account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (both local and cloud) from Settings › Data & Privacy › Delete Account. Opt-Out of Analytics: You can limit analytics collection through your device's privacy settings.
Luna is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and notify you through the app. Your continued use of Luna after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
